About Sugarpine Pastry
Sugarpine Pastries is more than a dessert business—it’s a story rooted in family, tradition, and the kind of memories that stay with you for a lifetime.
The name “Sugarpine” is inspired by a small historic town in California, originally built by the Madera Sugar Pine Company at the turn of the 20th century to support a thriving logging operation. Though the mill closed in 1931 and the town is now a quiet, near ghost town nestled near the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad, it holds a special place in my heart. Growing up, I would visit my grandmother there, and one of my favorite traditions was stopping by a little local bakery to pick up slices of quiche. Those simple moments—warm food, mountain air, and time spent together—became some of the most meaningful memories of my childhood.
My love for baking was shaped by both of my grandmothers. I began baking at the age of 10, and what started as a passion quickly became something much deeper. Their influence is woven into every part of Sugarpine Pastries—from the name itself to the details in my logo. The trumpet flowers are inspired by the blooms on my grandmother’s porch on my dad’s side, and the hydrangea represents her favorite flower. The camellia comes from the bushes outside my grandmother’s home on my mom’s side, and the tiger lilies are my mom’s favorite flower. Each element is a small tribute to the women who inspired my love for baking.
Today, Sugarpine Pastry operates out of Fredericksburg, Virginia, specializing in handcrafted cake pops made with creativity, care, and attention to detail.
Every aspect of this business is personal to me. I design my own branding, built my own website, and handle all of my own marketing. I often work alongside my mom, sharing a booth with her business, Anjhai’s Apothecary, which makes every event feel even more meaningful.
Looking ahead, my dream is to open a storefront where I can expand the menu and feature cherished family recipes—bringing the warmth, nostalgia, and sense of home that inspired Sugarpine Pastries to others.
